Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree, Inchon University, Republic of Korea First Place, functional pottery ware, Nellie Allen Smith Commemorative Juried Pottery Competition, 2001, Cape Fear Studios (Fayetteville NC) member, Seagrove Area Potters Association (SAPA). The pottery competition in Fayetteville in 2001 was a big turning point for Ki's career. Later that year the US Army transferred Ki's husband to Germany, an accompanied tour with the whole family. Over the course of the next four years Ki was able to acquire more equipment for her workshop and show and sell pieces at various craft shows. When Ki and her family returned to North Carolina they settled in Moore County, near the Seagrove Pottery Highway. Since 2005 Ki has shown her ware every fall at the annual Seagrove Pottery Festival. Ki's wares are displayed for sale at Dirtworks Pottery on Highway 705 (the world-famous Pottery Highway) in Seagrove and at Midland Crafters on Midland Road in Pinehurst, NC. Other North Carolina venues include: Southern Pines Springfest. Sanford Pottery Festival. Woolly Worm Festival in Banner Elk, in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Ki has donated works for charity auction at both the Seagrove and the Sanford events. Ki will display her works at this years' (2008) 27th Annual Seagrove Pottery Festival, November 22-23. |
